What Does Life Coaching Even Mean?

Discover, Or Rediscover, Your North Star

To me, life coaching means supporting you in living life according to your own North Star. Your North Star is deep and personal to you. And it’s always there. Sometimes, we can lose sight of it, if we’re experiencing a state of prolonged stress or burnout that has us in constant survival mode or if we’re on “autopilot” making decisions based on an outdated value and/or belief system. And that can leave us feeling disconnected, off, or unfulfilled. Yes, life feels great when we live it according to your North Star. And on the flip side, life can feel overwhelming when we don’t.

Life Coaching With Me

As a life coach I partner with you in defining your North Star, co-creating a road map and action steps that you can take in alignment with that North Star.

 

While I’m a behavior change expert, I’m not here to tell you what to do.

 

I honor wherever you may be right now, and show up to support you in enjoying lasting lifestyle change, mastering your stress, living without burnout,, reducing and/or preventing health issues, and adding years back to an inspired life. It’s about experimentation and self-discovery.

This All Begins And Ends With Your Beautiful Brain

Yes, our brains may be the only conflicted organ in our bodies, but they also give us all the power in the world to create a life that is more aligned with our North Star. If you choose to work with me and commit to the work, you’ll walk away with a different “autopilot” version of you than the one you walked in with…an “autopilot” version of you that is more connected to your North Star. 

 

Your brain gives you all the power you need to create a life aligned with your North Star. In your brain are the habits and beliefs that, today, point you away from your North Star. Habits and beliefs can be changed. The basis for it is called neuroplasticity. While they may not change overnight, if you choose to work with me and commit to the work, you can change them. When you’ve finished, your new autopilot version of yourself will feel more connected to your North Star.

 

I believe this is the long lasting answer to mastering your stress to master your life.

How We Work

I work with clients in one-on-one weekly coaching sessions. Each milestone corresponds to a coaching package we offer. Foundations is a three month package, Solidification is a six month package, and Freedom is a twelve month package.

Which package should you choose? That is completely up to you. Some clients choose Freedom because they want the full experience in one coaching engagement. Others choose Foundations because that’s what fits their needs at that time. I support whatever you choose. All progress is good progress!

  • How long does each journey take?
    In my experience, it takes about three months to get into an effective groove toward working to relieve your stress so that you can begin to identify your true North Star (Foundations). It takes about three more months to feel habituated in your new routines that are supporting your stress mastery while creating your personalized road map toward your true North Star, begin to take inspired action towards that vision, and practice them enough so that they become your new "autopilot" (Solidification). And it takes about six more months for that unshakeable confidence to emerge, when behaviors become ingrained enough to rely on, even in tough times, while possibly uncovering new areas to explore in support of reaching your North Star, and walking away feeling empowered in your own ability to function as your own life coach (Freedom). Ultimately, these are guidelines. I work with you on your own timetable.
  • What does working with me look like?
    After we talk, and if we believe we’d be a good fit for each other, you’ll sign up for the coaching journey that feels right for you. At intake, you'll receive our coaching agreement and privacy policy to review and sign. Once that is complete, we can get started. All of my coaching appointments are held virtually through Zoom. You'll also receive a personality type self-assessment that we'll use to identify how your brain is naturally wired, and use that to identify your in-born strengths, stress signals, and strategies to master your stress that are all based in science. We'll also get the opportunity to go through my signature wheel of stress to support you in creating your stress mastery road map. In addition to the coaching sessions that come along with each coaching journey, we'll also schedule two workshops: one workshop is dedicated to your personality type debrief and the other is dedicated to interactively highlighting the 10 domains of science that are relevant to how we can live without burnout and supporting you in creating your own action plan using my signature Wheel of Stress tool. Coaching sessions are weekly last for up to 60 minutes, while each of the two workshops will be scheduled for 90 minutes. In a coaching session, you'll be asked a lot of questions intended to be thought-provoking, hear observations, and work in a safe space to create intentions, action steps and/or goals in support of your individual stress and life mastery journey. Generally, that “homework” is done in between our sessions.
  • What if I go faster or slower to reach the end of my coaching journey?
    Ultimately we go at your pace. Remember, you're in the driver's seat and are in control of your pace. I strive to stay at your pace but if you'd like me to push you, I can do that too.
